Mactec’s sachet packaging machines, the MTVP100 and MTVP200, handle sachet packing of measured doses. The MTHP150 is the packing machine for patches and devices that are placed one at a time.

Measured filling or individual placement?

For a liquid, describe the intended dose and how the product behaves during filling. For a powder, describe flow, the required amount and cleaning needs between products. Tablets and capsules also require a defined feeding and counting approach.

For a patch, device or other individual item, explain its dimensions, orientation and handling needs. The package must accommodate the product while allowing the required seals. Product samples and a pouch drawing help distinguish these requirements.

Compare vertical and horizontal platforms

• MTVP100: a vertical form-fill-seal platform for sachet and unit-dose applications. Confirm the usable format and feeding configuration with Mactec.
• MTVP200: compare vertical pouch formats and multi-lane requirements against the actual drawing and proposed dosing equipment.
• MTHP150: evaluate horizontal handling for patches, devices and other placed products, including any selected loading or inspection options.

Use the pouch machine comparison and model specifications to narrow the selection. A model number or web width is not a guaranteed finished-pouch size.

Confirm the package and project scope

Mactec’s listed pouch platforms produce four-sided sealed pouches. Provide the proposed material, seal layout and finished package dimensions. Identify preprinted-web registration, coding and inspection requirements in the project scope. Do not assume that form-fill-seal equipment accepts premade bags or produces stick packs.

For multiple products, discuss the filling components, product-contact parts, cleaning needs and format changes. Have the proposal identify what is standard, what is selected for the application and what remains outside the equipment scope.

A documented feeding application

A shipped MTVP200 project used two rotary disk feeders with dedicated hoppers to put two products into the same pouch. That project illustrates a specific feeding requirement; it does not mean the same feeder is appropriate for every pharmaceutical product.

Start with filling versus placement, then review the product, package and loading method. The direction the packaging material travels is only one part of the decision.

Do I need to know the exact pouch size before contacting Mactec?

Can a pharmaceutical application use any listed configuration?

No. Materials, cleaning, product handling, inspection and documentation requirements need an application-specific review. A machine description alone is not a regulatory approval.
