Mactec builds compact pharmaceutical packaging machines at its Sayreville, New Jersey headquarters for unit-dose work in small and medium batches: blister cards, sachets and strip pouches, transdermal patches, and vials, bottles, cups and tubes. This page shows which machine fits which pharma packaging job. Customers include Bristol Myers Squibb, Teva, Bayer, Catalent, Eurofins, Alcami, Cambrex, Qiagen and Almac.

Tablets and capsules: blister cards
For pharmaceutical blister packaging, the NANO-XL and MT-150XL form, fill, seal, perforate and cut blister cards in one line, with thermoforming or cold forming and manual or automatic filling. The NANO-XL suits laboratory, R&D, clinical and small production runs; the MT-150XL suits small-to-medium batch production. For blisters that are already formed and loaded, the MT Table Top Blister Sealer handles the sealing step. Compare them on the pharmaceutical blister packaging machines page.
Liquids, powders, tablets and capsules: sachets and strip pouches
The MTVP160 and MTVP200 vertical form fill seal (VFFS) machines form a four-sided-seal pouch from a roll of film, fill a measured dose of liquid, powder, tablets or capsules, then seal, perforate and cut the finished sachets. For unit doses they make strip pouches, and the MTVP200’s wider web suits larger doses or multi-lane sample and unit-dose pouches. See pharmaceutical pouch packaging and sachet machines and VFFS machines.
Transdermal patches and placed products
Products that must be placed rather than dosed, such as a transdermal patch or a medical device, run on the MTHP150 horizontal form fill seal machine, which covers the same form, fill and seal steps with pick-and-place loading. Read choosing a transdermal patch packaging machine.
Vials, bottles, cups and tubes
The MTMB-24 monoblock fills liquid or dry products into vials, small bottles, cups or tubes and closes them at the next station: a sealed lid for cups, a torqued cap for bottles and vials, an inserted tip, or a crimp for tubes. The MTMB-60 is a multi-station rotary filling and sealing monoblock set up for four cups per index. See vial, bottle, cup and tube filling and capping.
For pharmacies, labs and clinical trials
503B outsourcing facilities, hospital pharmacies and repackagers use Mactec machines for unit-dose blister cards, strip pouches, cups and vials: see unit dose packaging machines for pharmacies. For lab work, clinical trial supplies and R&D, see small-batch packaging equipment for labs and clinical trials.
Validation and support
Mactec designs and builds every machine at its Sayreville, New Jersey headquarters, and offers factory acceptance testing you can witness, on-site installation and validation, IQ/OQ protocol support, operator training and spare parts stocked at the headquarters. Mactec machine controls can be supplied to meet 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for electronic records and signatures, with user log-ins and an audit trail. Where practical, we run your product on a Mactec machine before you commit. Suitability for a regulated process is reviewed for your application: state the actual process, environment and documentation requirements, and your proposal identifies the equipment, options and services included.
